Apsarasas
अप्सरा
The apsarasas are a class within the creation of the gods. At SB 3.10.27 Maitreya gives that creation as eightfold and counts within it the gods, the ancestors, the asuras, the gandharvas, the apsarasas, the siddhas, the yakshas, the rakshasas and the charanas: 'deva-sargash chAsHTavidho vibudhAH pitaro asurAH / gandharvApsarasaH siddhA yakSha-rakShAMsi chAraNAH'. In this adhyaya they appear only in the classification; there is no separate account of them.
