असुर
The asuras are the superhuman adversarial powers of Hindu mythology: elder-cousin clans of the devas who side with ego-driven might — the deva-asura conflict being the standing frame of puranic narrative. In the processed verses: they joined the churning of the ocean (SB 1.3.16) but were deluded by Mohini at the distribution of the nectar (1.3.17).
