Daityas

The Daityas are the asura-class descended from Kashyapa and Diti: the clan of Hiranyakashipu and Hiranyaksha, the fiercest standing adversaries of the devas in the Puranas. SB 1.3.18: their lord — the 'daityendra' — was Hiranyakashipu.
