Devahuti
देवहूति
Devahūti is the daughter of Svāyambhuva Manu and Śatarūpā, wife of the Prajāpati Kardama, and mother of the Lord Kapila. Her story in the third Skandha is a distinctive episode in the Vaiṣṇava tradition, for there the son becomes the mother's teacher: Kapila instructs her in Sāṅkhya and devotion, in what is called the Kāpila-gītā. SB 2.7.3 states the relation directly — 'He taught... His own mother' — and adds that by that teaching she washed off in this very life the mire of attachment and attained the goal of Kapila, without having to wait for another birth.

Devahuti is the mother of Kapila. Source evidence (SB 2.7.3): Kapila was born in Kardama's house of Devahuti, and taught the way to the Self to His own mother: 'jajne ca kardama-grihe dvija devahutyam... uce... sva-matre' (SB 2.7.3). Direction: son -> mother. Evidence: EXPLICIT.
