Jambudvipa
जम्बूद्वीप
Jambudvipa is the central and principal island-continent of Puranic geography, with Mount Meru at its centre; it is named from the abundance of the jambu (rose-apple) tree. Bharatavarsha is one of its regions and is held to be the land of karma. At SB 1.12.5 'sovereignty over Jambudvipa' is counted among Yudhishthira's possessions — and in the very next verse all of it is declared worthless to a king whose mind is in Mukunda.
