Kama

Kama is desire and enjoyment — the third purushartha — also famed as the Vedic love-god Kama-deva. The processed verses define its disciplined form: its point is not mere sense-gratification ('kamasya nendriya-pritih'); enjoyment serves only to sustain life, not to enslave it (SB 1.2.10).
