Kashyapa

Kashyapa, son of the Prajapati Marichi and one of the seven great sages, married thirteen daughters of Daksha, from whom sprang gods, asuras, nagas, Garuda, gandharvas and other orders of beings — whence he is reckoned foremost among the Prajapatis and ancestor of living creation. Through him and Aditi the Vamana avatara appeared. At SB 1.9.8 he comes with Angirasa and others, attended by pupils, to Bhishma.
