मन्वन्तर
The manvantara is the division of time over which a Manu presides. At SB 3.7.25 Vidura asks Maitreya how the lord of the prajapatis appointed 'sargAMsh cha evAnusargAMsh cha manUn manvantarAdhipAn' — the creations and secondary creations, and the Manus, lords of the manvantaras. The word 'manvantarAdhipa' makes clear that the manvantara is the period over which a Manu rules, which is why it is held as an entity distinct from the Manus.

At SB 3.11.23 the enjoyment of the fourteen Manus within the Lord's day is described. At SB 3.11.24 it is said that each Manu enjoys his own time, more than seventy, and that in the manvantaras the Manu, the rishis of his line, the gods and the lords of the gods who follow come to be at once. At SB 3.11.26 the Lord holds sattva through His own forms and protects the universe by Manu and the rest.
