Maya Danava

मय दानव

Maya Danava is the celebrated architect of the danavas and master of the building art; it was he who made the three cities of the Tripura asuras. Spared by Arjuna and Krishna at the burning of Khandava, he built in gratitude the wondrous illusory hall for the Pandavas at Indraprastha, where water seemed solid ground and ground water — Duryodhana's fall in it is counted among the causes of the Mahabharata war. At SB 1.15.8 Arjuna recalls it as 'the hall of wondrous artifice made by Maya'.
