Dyutaru

द्युतरु

Also known as पारिजात · Parijata

Dyutaru, that is the parijata — the tree of heaven which Krishna brought to earth for Satyabhama. At SB 3.3.5 Uddhava says that the Lord, wishing to please His beloved, went for the dyutaru 'grAmya iva', as an ordinary village husband would; for this the thunderbolt-bearing Indra, incited by his wives and blind with anger, ran at Him with his host. The Bhagavata calls Indra here the plaything of brides. The tree appears in this Skandha under the name Dyutaru alone.
