Samsara

Samsara (samsriti) is a foundational conception of Hindu philosophy: the beginningless cycle of birth and death through which the jiva wanders across births according to karma, and from which moksha is release. In the processed verses it is 'terrible' (SB 1.1.14): even the helpless one fallen into it is freed at once by the mere remembrance of the Lord's name — it is that from which even fear itself flees.
