साङ्ख्यायन
Sankhyayana is the sage, chief of the paramahamsas, who in the lineage of the Bhagavata stands between Sanatkumara and Parashara. At SB 3.8.7 he is called one who has taken vows and is described as having been told by Sanatkumara. At SB 3.8.8 Maitreya says: 'sA~NkhyAyanaH pAramahaMsya-mukhyo vivakShamANo bhagavad-vibhUtIH / jagAda so smad-gurave nvitAya parAsha-rAyAtha bR^ihaspatesh cha' — wishing to tell the glories of the Lord, he told them to Parashara, Maitreya's teacher, and to Brihaspati.

At SB 3.8.8 Sankhyayana is called 'pAramahaMsya-mukhya', chief of the paramahamsas, who, wishing to tell the glories of the Lord, tells them to Parashara, Maitreya's teacher, and to Brihaspati. At SB 3.8.7 he is called 'dhR^ita-vratAya', one who has taken vows.
