The Sarasvati River is the holiest river of Vedic times, praised throughout the Rig Veda; now identified with the dry bed of the Ghaggar-Hakra system. SB 1.4.15, 27: Vyasa bathed in her waters and sat in solitude on her pure bank. Deliberately distinct from the goddess Sarasvati (entity 'sarasvati').
