पाखण्ड
Also known as Pakhanda-patha (the heretical paths)
The pakhandas are the group of paths held to differ from the Vedic way. At SB 3.7.31 Vidura asks for 'pAkhaNDa-patha-vaishamyaM pratiloma-niveshanam' — the divergence of the heretical paths and the placement against the grain — and then for 'jIvasya gatayo yAsh cha yAvatIr guNa-karma-jAH', the destinations of the jiva that arise from guna and karma. The verse holds the heretical paths as a plural class, differing among themselves.
