Yoga

योग

Also known as Yoga-samadhi

Yoga is the practice which the Bhagavata counts among the means to the supreme good. At SB 3.9.41 the Lord says: 'pUrtena tapasA yaj~naiH dAnaiH yoga-samAdhinA / rAddhaM niHshreyasaM puMsAM mat-prItis tattva-vin-matam'. At SB 3.9.11 the Lord is described as seated in the heart-lotus ripened by the yoga of feeling. At SB 3.9.20-21 the sleep of yoga is named, and at SB 3.9.26 Brahma praises by austerity, knowledge and absorption. The roster held yoga-nidra, the Lord's mystic slumber, but not yoga itself.
