Abhimanyu is the son of Arjuna and Subhadra, the young hero who pierced the chakravyuha, husband of Uttara; he fell on the thirteenth day of the Mahabharata war. Parikshit was his son: 'abhimanyu-sutam... bhāgavatottamam' (SB 1.4.9).
