Brahmavarta

Brahmavarta is the holy tract between the Sarasvati and Drishadvati rivers, which the Manusmriti calls a land fashioned by the gods and holds up as the model region for varnashrama conduct; Kurukshetra lies near it. At SB 1.17.33 Parikshit forbids Kali to dwell there — 'where conduct is by dharma and truth, in Brahmavarta, where those versed in the extension of sacrifice worship the Lord of sacrifice with sacrifices' — and the next verse states the fruit of that worship, that Hari Himself extends welfare to the sacrificers.
