Jaya

'Jaya' is the ancient name of the Mahabharata (the 'poem of victory', so cited within the epic itself). SB 1.2.4 enjoins that after bowing to Narayana, Nara, Sarasvati and Vyasa one should sound forth the jaya. The identification jaya = Mahabharata is traditional, not stated in the verse, so this entity is kept separate.
