Kripacharya (Gautama), son of Sharadvan Gautama, twin brother of Kripi and brother-in-law of Dronacharya, was the first teacher of arms to the Kuru princes, both Kaurava and Pandava. He fought on the Kaurava side and was one of the three survivors of that army. Tradition counts him among the immortals and among the seven sages of the coming manvantara. At SB 1.10.9 he is present under the name Gautama at Krishna's departure.
