Lakshmi (Shri) is Vishnu's eternal potency and consort, goddess of majesty, beauty and prosperity; appearing at the churning of the ocean she chose Vishnu. Common speech calls her 'fickle', since wealth does not stay; the Bhagavata reverses the proverb: SB 1.11.34 says that fickle though she is, she never abandons the Lord's feet, and SB 1.11.27 makes His chest her very dwelling.

At SB 3.9.23 Brahma calls the Lord the granter of boons to those who take refuge, who will do whatever He does 'ramayAtma-shaktyA', with Rama as His own power, having taken up the incarnations of the gunas. Rama is a name of Lakshmi, who is already in the roster.
Shri (Lakshmi) never abandons Krishna's feet: 'calapi yac chrir na jahati karhicit' (SB 1.11.34), though she is called fickle; and 'shriyo nivaso yasyorah' (SB 1.11.27), His chest is her dwelling. Evidence: EXPLICIT.
