Sanjaya
सञ्जय
Also known as गावल्गणिः
Sanjaya (Gavalgani), son of Gavalgana, was Dhritarashtra's charioteer-bard, counsellor and devoted servant. By the divine sight granted by Vyasa he narrated the Kurukshetra war as it happened to the blind king — the whole dialogue of the Bhagavad-gita reached Hastinapura through his mouth. At SB 1.13.32-37 Yudhishthira questions him about the elders, and Sanjaya, wasted with grief at his master's going, is at first unable to reply, then confesses: 'I have been outwitted by those great souls; I do not know their resolve.'
