Satyabhama

Satyabhama, daughter of Satrajit, is one of Krishna's principal queens, married to Him after the affair of the Syamantaka gem. She is famed for a spirited and proud nature; at the slaying of Narakasura she rode with Krishna and took part in the battle, whence the release of the sixteen thousand captive women (cf. SB 1.10.29). It was for her that Krishna brought the parijata tree from Indra's heaven — the allusion of SB 1.14.37, that 'Satyabhama and the rest, conquering the gods in battle, carry off even what befits the beloved of the wielder of the thunderbolt'.
