Tvashtar

त्वष्टा

Tvashtar is the god who presides over the eyes of the cosmic Person. At SB 3.6.15 Maitreya says: 'nirbhinne akShiNI tvaShTA loka-pAlo avishat vibhoH / chakShuShAMshena rUpANAM pratipattir yato bhavet' — when the two eyes of the Virat opened, Tvashtar entered them, and by sight, His portion, the perception of forms comes about. In the organ sequence of this adhyaya he is the presiding power of sight. This is his only mention in the third Skandha.
