In the last verse of the adhyaya Vidura is described as going toward the heavenly stream where the sage, the son of Mitra, abides: 'prApadyata svaHsaritaM yatra mitrAsuto muniH' (SB 3.4.36). Uddhava too names him Kauṣārava as being near Vidura (SB 3.4.26).
Maitreya
मैत्रेय
Also known as कौषारवः
Maitreya (Kaushrava), son of Kushrava, is a sage of the highest knowledge, traditionally a pupil of Parashara. At SB 1.13.1-2 Vidura receives from him, during the pilgrimage, the knowledge of the destiny of the self, and on the rising of exclusive devotion to Govinda ceases even to question further. Much of the third Skandha — the order of creation, the Varaha avatara, the Kapila-Devahuti dialogue — is his instruction to Vidura. He was also present at Krishna's departure and received His final teaching.
Śrīmad Bhāgavata Mahāpurāṇa 1.13.1 — Sanskrit Wikisource (pinned oldid=110184)
Maitreya tells Vidura that the Lord always approves of him, and that it was for Vidura's instruction in knowledge that the Lord, as He went, gave Maitreya His command: 'yasya j~nAnopadeshAya mAdishat bhagavAn vrajan' (SB 3.5.21). This is the warrant for the whole teaching.
